Irrational Games is an award-winning game developer located in Quincy, Massachusetts, founded in 1997 by Ken Levine, Jonathan Chey, and Robert Farmer. The team made its name with the system of those big shock 2 First Person Shooter. This was followed by two sets of Freedom Force, SWAT 4 and Tribes: Vengeance. In 2005, Irrational Games was acquired by Take-Two Interactive. The team was renamed 2K Boston in 2007, just in time to coincide with the release of the critically acclaimed BioShock, which has even won over 50 awards including Best Game BAFTA. In 2010, the team returned to its roots, by getting the nickname of Irrational Games.
