Irrational Games is an award-winning game developer located in Quincy, Massachusetts, founded in 1997 by Ken Levine, Jonathan Chey, and Robert Farmer. The team made its name with the system of those big shock 2 First Person Shooter. This was followed by two sets of Freedom Force, SWAT 4 and Tribes: Vengeance. In 2005, Irrational Games was acquired by Take-Two Interactive. The team was renamed 2K Boston in 2007, just in time to coincide with the release of the critically acclaimed BioShock.
